Owen Brady signs his national letter of intent to run cross country and track at Youngstown State University.

Owen Brady, son of Kip and Jody Brady of New Philadelphia, will sign a National Letter of Intent to run cross country and track at Youngstown State University located in Youngstown, Ohio. The Penguins are members of the Horizon League Conference.

Owen has been one of the top runners in our region over the past two years, winning Tuscarawas County and ECOL titles in cross country in 2020 and 2021 and 1600 m and 3200 m titles on the track in 2021. Among his accomplishments are two trips to the Division 1 State Cross Country Championships, including a top-25 All-Ohio finish this year, a trip to the Division 1 State Track & Field Championships in 2021 where he finished 8th overall in the 3200 m race, and setting a New Philadelphia school record of 4:21.44 for the 1600 m. In addition to his athletic accomplishments, Owen is an excellent student who holds an unweighted GPA of 4.0 and has earned Academic All-Ohio honors for Cross Country and Track & Field. Owen plans to major in Pre-Med/Biology while at Youngstown State.

"Owen Brady represents the true definition of a scholar-athlete with numerous accolades inside and outside of the classroom. He is an outstanding runner and an even better student. We wish him the best as he continues to pursue his academic and athletic goals at Youngstown State University.”
